What we typically regard as the Lord's Prayer, "Our Father..." is actually the Disciple's Prayer, given after Jesus' disciples asked Him "Lord, teach us to pray...". Because Jesus was perfect and sinless he never needed to ask to be forgiven for debts and trespasses. But just prior to the cross Jesus laid out His heart as a high priest, praying for His Father's will, His glory, His follower's keeping and protection and place in heaven and for all who would believe in Him moving forward.
